Hello, my name is Greg Morris, woodturner. I have been woodturning for 30 years, and live at Woodend Beach just 20 minutes out of Christchurch, New Zealand
My love of creating beautiful things from natural wood and enjoying the challenge of each individual piece is very satisfying. It is wonderful to be rewarded by people like yourself appreciating my work.
With any article many factors contribute to the finished product. One of these is the availability of wood. I use wood which is native to New Zealand : Rimu; Matai; Walnut and Yew.
The finish is also extremely important as it should enhance the woods’ natural beauty.
These things and my love of turning is what I work on.
It is an on-going challenge, always striving for that perfect piece. Some have gone flying out of the workshop with a few words muttered under my breath!
For you, your family, friends or associates, here or around the world who enjoy the feel and beauty of wood, please do not hesitate to contact me or visit me at 58 Ferry Rd Woodend Beach or at the Restart Market on Cashel St near Ballantynes on Saturdays from 10 am-4 pm and sometimes Sundays.[Ph 027 3893539 for more infomation]
